If you're like me, you spend your time at the pool chasing crazy kiddos around, feeding 10 bagillion snacks, ensuring no one drowns, and re-applying sunscreen CONSTANTLY. The same is true for long outings at the park/trail/outdoor museum/etc., etc., etc. My general rule is that if the UV index is greater than 4 (did you know that the apple watch has an app for that?!), we all need to have UPF rated clothing and/or swim attire
on. This lessens the need for us to apply, and re-apply sunscreen over and over again.
This need for re-application is because sunscreen is just that.... a SCREEN. It's not a sunBLOCK. It wipes off and wears off and doesn't shut out all the various types of UVA/UVB rays. UPF rated clothing and swimsuits is an easy (and cute) way to keep you and your loved ones protected when enjoying the sun. These clothing items used to all be mega-dorky looking, but in recent years, several new companies have emerged with adorable UPF rated options.
