Tips for making the most of your visit

What should I wear?

Something comfortable. For skin checks, patients are asked to remove as much clothing as they are comfortable with. I always prefer to check as much skin as possible!

Please refrain from wearing any make-up on the day of your appointment.

Do you do cosmetic procedures?

No. I am exclusively a medical dermatologist, but I have an incredibly talented partner, Dr. Rachel Kyllo who is a board certified Mohs surgeon and cosmetic dermatologist. I am happy to share her information.

Should I bring someone with me?

Probably not. Patient's under 18 will need a guardian, but most patients will be fine coming alone.

Will insurance cover my visit?

This depends upon your insurance company, so I always recommend checking your benefits prior to scheduling. I can say with certainty that skin tags are never covered by insurance.

Will procedures be performed same day?

Sometimes. If I am concerned that you have a skin cancer, then absolutely that will be done same day! Cosmetic mole removals, skin tags, etc. are not performed same day.

What if I want to talk about hair loss?

We can absolutely do that! It just will need to be a separate appointment since these discussions can be lengthy.
